179 and Feelin Fine!

So I’m still a few days behind.  I can’t seem to get the hang of doing this regularly.  I will, though!  This post is yesterday AND the day before.  Yikes!  Plus, I have awesome news about my weight loss!

Thursday

I overslept and missed my alarm.  When I finally woke up, I had the boys I nanny for coming over soon.  I grabbed a Peanut Butter Cookie Larabar and got to cleaning up.  After while I attempted to make a smoothie from an empty fruit bowl.  I had some frozen fruit, so I tried a combo of strawberries, blackberries & mangoes (all frozen) with OJ and kefir.  I didn’t have any kale or spinach, but I did have mustard greens.  Baaaaad idea!!  The seeds in the frozen berries did not blend well and the mustard greens made it super spicy!  I only drank about half of this.

For lunch I heated up half of a leftover sweet potato with some agave syrup and cinnamon.  I also made a salmon salad with spring salad, avocado, goat cheese gouda, salmon and I used the almond-basil pesto to make a dressing.  I talked about this in the last post.  It was really good.  I blended the pesto with some more olive oil, lime juice and some water.

I tried to get Kaitlyn to eat some sweet potatoes.  I told her, “Come on, they taste like candy”.  She looked at me, tilted her head and said,”That NOT candy”.  LOL!  She also kept eating only the cheese off my salad and finally said, “I LIKE salad”.  What a crack up!

I was so tired by the time dinner came around.  We had gone to Wal-Mart and I decided to stop by Taco Bell to get a Fresco Taco and bring it home to make a salad with spring salad mix, tomatoes and a homemade cilantro-avocado dressing

Friday

I can’t really remember what I ate for breakfast yesterday morning.  I may have possibly skipped it.  Eek!

I did have a yum yum lunch, though.  I took a piece of flat out and spread it with 1/4 of an avocado and some homemade black bean spread (black beans, garlic, EVOO, water and salt & pepper).  I had some spring salad mix with salsa as dressing and some organic blue corn chips with the leftover black bean spread on the side.  Very satisfying!

Somewhere along the way I ate a couple of Ryan’s gummy Lifesavers.

Ok, so my camera died before dinner.  I really, really wish it hadn’t because I wanted some proof of what I ate!!  We went to Hometown Buffet, which should have been horrible, but I did awesome!  My first plate had broiled fish, seasoned green beans, brussel sprouts, steamed carrots with pico de gallo and honeydew.  Since we were out to dinner, I decided to get a “treat”plate and a little dessert.  My “treat” plate consisted of a bite of pizza, a bite of a roll and a tostada topped with spring mix, pico de gallo, olives and chicken fajita fixins.  Sooo good!  My dessert was a sugar free Ranger cookie (what’s a Ranger cookie??) and a tiny bit of sugar free, fat free vanilla froyo.  I was really proud of myself.

I was even more proud of myself when I stepped on the scale this morning and it said 179!!  I have not seen the 170’s since I was pregnant with Ryan!!  I was so so happy.  I know its still a pretty large number, but it is a huge step for me.  Huge.  That gave me a lot of motivation and made me realize I am doing things right.  I have no counted a calorie in weeks (maybe over a month).  I just eat what I know is good for my body, try to stay as “clean” as possible and treat myself regularly.  I am really starting to see food and nutrition in a new light.  All the healthy lifestyle blogs I have been reading give me a lot of support, even though their authors have no idea.  This blog is titled See Mommy Lose, not See Mommy Eat so this morning prompted me to put my Weekly Weigh-In on the right side.  I need to start working out again and I will list my activities, too.  I also want to update my “Who I’m Reading” list tomorrow!

I have to tell you, today was a booring food day, but I will have a lot to talk about.  Ryan starts kindergarten on Monday and we are so excited!!

Night!

What is your biggest motivation?
